Product Marketing Specialist

In this position you will report directly to the VP of Marketing, and you will be responsible for the development and management of B2B product marketing. You will be experienced in managing all aspects of product marketing.

About the role

Do you live and breathe all things product marketing? Are you data and detail-orientated and experienced in leading product marketing as part of a dedicated, international, Marketing? Are you inspired by technology and innovation? We have just the position for you.
In this position you will report directly to the VP of Marketing, and you will be responsible for the development and management of B2B product marketing. You will be experienced in managing all aspects of product marketing.
Working closely with our technical team, you will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of our value proposition and our target markets. You will be responsible for conducting market research and applying insights to develop marketing strategy. Ensuring that our marketing is responsive to customer characteristics and needs.
In this role, collaboration with global teams, customers and partners is essential to increase Marketing’s contribution to revenue. This position requires a candidate with a blend of strategy, technical, creative, analytic and project management expertise.
Excellent communication and writing skills are essential and experience of the speech technology industry would be an advantage. You must be confident and capable of working as part of team, working autonomously, and working to deadlines.
There will be an expectation of occasional travel to company offices, customer and partner sites as and when needed.

You are a product savvy, marketing professional that can work with extremely technical individuals and understand, shape and package our marketing strategies and message. We’re looking for someone that can assess the market and provide data driven forecasts and trends. You will have a background in B2B tech and can work autonomously.

Task & Responsibilities

• Provide short and long-term market forecasts, reports, and trends to assist business development in the acquisition of B2B customers, globally
• Manage product messaging and positioning as part of product development
• Ensuring synchronisation between ongoing sales requirements, developments and launching marketing collateral – preparing and distributing efficiently and effectively
• Management of products, ensuring branding, trademarking, and marketing collateral are all maintained to a world class level
• Ensure that new product launches are carried out in a controlled and coordinated manner, and that projects requiring new products are tracked and managed
• Working with the Product Management Team, developing buyer personas to use throughout all Marketing activities and funnel engagement
• Conduct market segmentation exercises to develop specific strategies including competitor analysis and benchmarking
• Working with the Product Management Team, develop product roadmaps that align with business strategy
• Design ‘go to market’ strategies alongside Product Management in the development of new products to meet current and future customer requirements
• Developing and managing product launches and implementing product marketing strategies
• Perform industry and competitive analysis to inform the sales process and help positioning and messaging
• Attend global exhibitions and events – horizon scanning market trends
• Perform ongoing tracking and reporting on B2B marketing initiatives
• Working with the PR and Content Specialist to produce high quality content, including product literature, release notes, blogs, case studies, e-books, white papers, product documentation, reports, emails, presentations and other forms of written material
• Using data and insights to drive product marketing strategies and inform product development
• Driving brand and product awareness and engagement by using innovative, exciting marketing strategies
• Conducting research and applying insights to develop marketing strategy that responds to customer characteristics and needs
• Monitoring and evaluating campaigns, providing insights, advice, and information on new trends and customer behaviour
• Collaborating with the Marketing Team to communicate plans, objectives, campaigns, while delegating tasks and developing briefs
• Provide cover for Marketing team members during periods of leave.

What you will do in your first 3 months

• Conduct market segmentation exercises to develop specific strategies including competitor analysis and benchmarking
• Take a leading role in developing our buyer personas and working with our sales and marketing teams to build our strategies based on these personas
• Heavy involvement in a new product release and GTM plan for Q1.

Skills & Experience

• 3 + years’ experience of managing product marketing for a global, B2B tech company working with multiple language and territories
• Fluency in English
• Experience in analysing, marketing channels developing tailored, segmented content
• Experience handling data and insight to create customer-centric marketing and campaigns
• Experienced in develop compelling audience messaging and content
• Experienced creating product personas and utilising them across internal teams such as Sales, Research and Development and Product
• Experienced in working with market insight tools including Gartner
• Experienced in producing sales collateral for both new products and new releases
• Experienced in working closely with sales to enable and support mutual commercial goals
• Experience of creating detailed documentation and literature
• Strong team work ethic but also possesses the ability to work autonomously on projects
• Strong written and communication skills
• A proactive, can-do attitude and the desire to make a difference
• Be based either in the UK (full remote) or in Spain (full remote but in Barcelona, hybrid: be able to visit the office on a weekly basis would be required)

Nice to have

• A strong technical understanding
• Experienced in Adobe packages including Photoshop and Illustrator
• Previous experience gained in speech technology.
